Here’s an easy way to prepare Tofu as a light snack.
Ingredients (from Groceries for Seniors bag)
1 block (about 14 ounces) of tofu
Ingredients (you may have in your kitchen)
1 tablespoon Olive Oil or Vegetable Oil
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Cooking utensils required:
1 baking sheet
1 mixing bowl
Instructions
Drain the tofu. This can be done by placing the tofu block between two sheets of paper towels and gently squeezing the moisture out.
Pre-heat your oven to 400°F.
Cut the tofu into tiny cubes, about ¾ inches in size.
Coat the tofu. Add your prepared cubes to a large mixing bowl. Drizzle with olive oil, and toss until evenly coated. Sprinkle evenly with cornstarch, salt, garlic powder and black pepper. Gently toss until the tofu is evenly coated.
Arrange on a baking sheet. With a spoon, place the now coated cubes on baking sheet leaving a little space between them.
Bake for 15 minutes, then pull the baking sheet from the oven, and flip each of the tofu cubes so they can cook evenly on the other side. Return to the oven for 15-20 more minutes, or until the tofu reaches your desired level of crispiness. Remove baking sheet from the oven.
Serve warm. And enjoy!
